We know that the graphite electrode has a very high melting point because it
is also a Heat Resistant Graphite Electrode, which can reduce the loss of the
electrode, thereby further improving the production efficiency; and when the
current value is small, the loss of the electrode is increased. When the area is
constant and the pulse width is constant, the peak current will reach a certain
value, continue to increase, and then the processing instability will occur, and
the electrode and the processing will produce arc burn, which will greatly
reduce the production efficiency.
The larger the current of the Graphite Electrode, the larger the pit of the galvanic corrosion, and as the peak current increases, its surface becomes rougher. At the beginning, the sheet electrode is almost in point contact with the work piece discharge. The small electrode can not withstand excessive current and is easily damaged. Therefore, the current should be turned down at the beginning, and then the peak current should be gradually increased until the discharge is stable and the processing speed is the fastest.
The size of the graphite particles determines the degree of loss. The larger the particles, the greater the loss, the smaller the loss of the particles, and the graphite particles determine the roughness of the surface. Therefore, when selecting graphite electrode materials, be careful.
